A Thanksgiving wish

Often times people think and say that Christians are deluded, I am here to tell you that I was trapped in the same delusion myself, until the day I just simply thought, “If Jesus is really there, then surely He Will show me He is.”

I did ask, and he did show me, and now I’m here to tell you. I was deluded, but now, not as much.
The world makes since, and, all the things I used to wonder about: why people do what they do, why things work the way they do, why we struggled and fight. All those questions have been answered, the mystery’s of the world, of the mind, and the spirits, that once pledged me are satisfied; and answered by my Creator,

That hunger for knowledge I used to have is gone, and has been replaced by a hunger for Wisdom,  knowing my Creator, my propitiation and my Savior. Now I strive to be a better person, to love everyone, and help them along their way with their struggles. I still fall to my own desires and selfishness. To often I find myself in my own filth, but it only takes a prayer, a quick request to my God and I put the bottle down, I can trust that he will deliver me from the mess I create with my mouth, I know that he will help me and shine through me. I know that he will give me the love I need to help others.

My new desire is to know and understand my Savior, my Creator, and to live according to his will and purpose. Not to satisfy my lust for control and power, not for my greed of wealth and things, but to help people who are hurting, to aid people in their walks and life, to tell them the truth that I have learned that has delivered me out of the bondage, the wrap ups and hang ups of selfishness and greed, to show them the joy I feel to tell them that it will be OK.

I’m happy with what I have received, I don’t hurt myself and others to have more stuff any more.

I’ve always been afraid of the argument, of being wrong, but that fear is also quickly fading, I am finding myself wanting to let people know that they can be at peace, that they have joy, even though we have people that hate us and want to kill us, we don’t even have to fear that. Because our Creator loves us and protects us, and vengeance is his.

When that point sets in on my mind, I find myself praying for those who want to hurt me and my brothers, and sisters. I hope that God will show them like He showed me. Because I do fear the anger of my Father, and I’m afraid for what my come to those who refuse to listen. I’m not talking about hell, hell is the outcome of  walking away from God, I’m talking about God removing his hand of protection from ones life, God saying,

” Ok, have what YOU want, not whats good for you. Not what I want for you. Go ahead into your lust and selfishness and greed and see where it gets you, but remember this, you may not come back.”

That’s what I fear most for my Brothers and Sisters, because it’s apparent, that day is coming for all of us.

We are already in a delusion, if you don’t agree, pay attention, look to the government and how they are running the show, look to the middle east, look to Korea. we have enough bombs to blow ourselves up several times, and we lean on a philosophy call Mutually Assured destruction!?

How absurd is that? It’s like two people standing with guns pointed at each other. My Dad called it the great Mexican standoff.

This is stupid people! Sooner or later someone will get tired and blink, or lower his weapon, or the other will think, I may be able to shoot him and kill him before he shoots me.

At no point do we say, “Listen, we are brothers! Can we not work things out for the sake of our children?”

Do we say, “lets sit down over dinner and talk”?

No we just hire more people and make deals with others to hold more guns on each other, and then some of those people we arm, switch sides, or go rouge, or think, “ I can end it all in the name of my god.”

All I have to say is Jesus says “Live for me because I died for you” Allah says “Die for me.” They are certainly not the same god, not the same lifestyle or the same message.

What is wrong with us?

I’ll tell you, it’s simple and I thank Jesus on THIS day that he called to me, I listened and answered to him, and he opened my eyes.

The problem with people is,

are you ready for this?

We think we can do better than God.

I think our current state of affairs on this 2010 Thanksgiving Holiday shows that we cannot do better, we are fooling ourselves.

Why not turn around today and give the power back to Him to run things? His LAW was good enough to sustain the Jews for 1900 years without a home land, why do we think we can do better?

They didn’t even do a good job of keeping the law but it still sustained him even after they rejected his Son.

Do you really believe you can do better? I think if we throw away our pride for just a few moments, and really think about it we will know, without a doubt, that we are real screwed up, and we need some Divine help.

The best part is, we just need to ask. Just ask Him, Just ask Jesus. You don’t even have to believe in Him yet, I didn’t, I just wanted to know if it was really about HIM. I just opened my mind to the possibility.

and like he promises he stepped in and showed me, he showed me my life and what it would be without him, and gave me the choice.

I choose HIM and I know you will too. Just ask for the faith to ask, just consider it, and if you prefer to keep your delusion of self then so be it.

I’m just asking, no begging you as a friend and a brother, for you to think about it, open your mind, and silently ask Jesus.

“Jesus, Are you really out there?”

Then see what happens

In the name of my Creator, and Savior, the one who loved us so much that he stepped down, from Heaven to Earth, Lived the example, was beaten and died to pay the price we deserve, then rose from the grave to show us he was TRULY GOD and was bigger than the death we deserve.

God took me along in a good study, of all things a psalms refuted this. It seems there is eternal punishment, but I havn’t yet found where the line is drawn after this life.

The Lord has decided to trust me with one of his servants, I pray that he will make me a good father, So that he will be cared for, and trained in the Way. 

It was the first good warm day of the year, a full moon, and the Bradford pears bloomed today. Oh and it was a Monday. I learned today what life is, holding my second boy in my arms taught me that my life was over.

A friend pointed that out to me, on the phone. I think maybe he was trying to scare me, the way he said it, “Your life is over!” I didn’t realize before that the birth of your child would kill you, it has, and it’s great. I no longer live for me, I live for my children. I am dead so that they may live, I’ll no longer chase after things for Eddie.

My life is about them now.

“He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal.”

It’s worth it, It’s worth liveing for God, My Wife, My Sons. It’s worth it, because they are worth so much more than I.

I thank God for the gift of this understanding, for his example, and his love for me. I thank God for giveing me the oppratunity to live a fuller life. One with more rewards.

I may not have alot of money, but I am RICH!

The Bradford Pair Trees bloomed and there is a full moon.
The High was 76 Sunny and beautiful, low was 51. It was cold last week.

We have been Blessed with a new Life.

Would the hand say to the foot, you shouldn’t work that way that isn’t the true way!

Would the Kidney say to the heart, stop that, you should dance that way!

Then why does the body of Christ argue? I think it’s time we just focus on doing our Job.

To obey the Lord and love one another, because we can NOT live without the other.

Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees .. I don’t feel threatened. I don’t feel d iscriminated against. That’s what they are: Christmas trees.

It doesn’t bother me a bit when people say, ‘Merry Christmas’ to me. I don’t think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn’t bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu .. If people want a crèche, it’s just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christ ians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, p eriod. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. &nb sp;I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: ;This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham’s daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her ‘How could God let something like this happen?’ (regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. & nbsp;She said, ‘I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we’ve been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?’

In light of recent events… terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want p rayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible i n school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave bec ause their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said OK.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with ‘WE REAP WHAT W E SOW.’

Funny how simple it is for peopl e to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages reg arding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on

your add ress list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they

will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what Go d thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it… no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.
